Grow your own hops!!!
So this is different from the other topics. all other topics are about buying from the store and planting what you have or leftovers. this covers hops. I bought rhizomes online and planted them in small pots. I dont have a whole lot of room at my place so I am hoping to start them in pots in my house then transplant to my parents where there is more room. so far still good. first order were just 2 columbia hops. they sent me three though (i assume one looked rough so they sent it out of good will) well two of the three have sprouted! im hoping for a perfect three! I am so pumped from this i ordered more hops. cant wait!
Growing Garlic from cloves bought at the store!
So watching how to grow a mango tree from store bought gloves the gentleman in the video was also growing garlic. I never thought about growing garlic so lucky me I bought two extra bundles of cloves (organic of course) and I broke apart the cloves and plants them in a pot 2 inches below the surface. They are a little close to each other but im hoping if they do grow I will just transplant them into bigger pots or outside.

Growing Avacados from store bought fruits.
So my friend Amber inspired me to do this when I saw she was attempting to grow her own. I thought why not it will be fun. I have 4 pits not sitting in water. three have been in there for a few weeks. They look like they started to crack but no sign of a root. from what ive seen and read its a long process. so we'll see how that goes. I recently just stuck them on a heat pad to see if maybe i can speed up the process. Also looks like I wont actually get avocados from these. I dont know if thats non organic or all of them. I will have to read up on it some more and maybe I will be lucky and can get some avocados from these bad boys.

Growing Celery from store bought stalks (bottoms cut off)
so I came across this site.
re-growing celery
I read it and thought "WOW!" this is a neat trick. I dont know how many bottoms i have cut off and tossed in the compost not knowing i can regrow it. so today I restocked up on vegis to juice tomorrow. Well I just happen to have a bundle of celery and so I went and cut off the bottom. I stuck it in a small bowl with warm water in it. I then stuck that in my window sill on a heat pad. I will let it site over night and plant tomorrow and see how it goes.

First post!
so I have been getting into growing my own plants lately. for me space is limited and i often have to start the plants off in my window sill. once big enough i then normally transplant to my parents house where they have more room and go a good amount of gardening (more than normal households) so here we go. Im gonna post what i have been up to and neat websites I have come across.
